This accessibility statement pertains to the City of Helsinki’s Palvelukeskus Helsinki website. The website’s address is https://palvelukeskus.hel.fi .
Objective of the City
Regarding the accessibility of the digital services, Helsinki’s objective is to achieve the AA level or higher as defined in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), as far as reasonably possible.
This website meets the critical accessibility requirements at the AA level of WCAG 2.1 with the following deficiencies:
Content that is not yet accessible
The content specified below does not yet meet all statutory accessibility requirements.
- The website has some unclear link texts, such as ‘through this link’ (WCAG 2.1: 2.4.4 Link Purpose (In Context))
- Not all functionalities of embedded videos are available when using a keyboard. (WCAG 2.1: 2.1.1 Keyboard).
- Using some embedded videos with a screen reader is difficult, as the keys and elements of the embedded video cannot be viewed the same way as regular html content. This causes difficulties when using desktop browsers, and controlling the video may even be impossible with a mobile device. There are no instructions for using embedded videos. (WCAG 2.1: 2.1.1 Keyboard, 2.4.6 Headings and Labels)
- The visually shared information of some embedded videos is not visible for screen reader users. (WCAG 2.1: 1.3.1 Info and Relationships, 4.1.3 Status Messages)
Correction of deficiencies
We aim to continuously rectify any accessibility deficiencies detected. The listing of detected accessibility deficiencies presented in this statement will be updated as the deficiencies are rectified.
- The ‘through this link’ link texts detected were made more accessible on 20 January 2023.
