School meals

School meals are varied lunches planned to support the learning and wellbeing of children and young people. When the plate holds all of the meal components in correct amounts, the school meal accounts for approximately one-third of the pupil’s daily food requirements.

Every day, our restaurants offer two main dishes for the pupils to choose from. At least one of the two meal options is vegan or lacto-ovo vegetarian.

At schools and educational institutes, we follow a six-week rotating menu that our professionals have planned together with the Education Division of Helsinki, taking into account the wishes of pupils and students. Themes and holidays offer variation in the menu, as we serve food to match the occasion.

Every day, our restaurants offer two main dishes for the pupils to choose from. At least one of the two meal options is vegan or lacto-ovo vegetarian.

The self-service line includes fresh vegetables, salad and salad dressing as well as grated vegetables on a daily basis. When soup or porridge is served, salad is replaced by fresh vegetable portions or fruit.

The dish should be supplemented with bread and a drink, which are part of the meal. The school lunch always includes crispbread and margarine. Soft bread is served twice a week. Drink options at our school restaurants include skimmed milk, skimmed sour milk and water.
